Institut für Volkswirtslehre

Willkommen an der Abteilung für Volkswirtschaftslehre. Der Bereich für VWL besteht aus einer Vielzahl von ProfessorInnen, JuniorprofessorInnen, Postdocs und DoktorandInnen. Einige Lehrstühle sind gemeinsame Berufungen mit den folgenden Forschungszentren, IWH   , IAMO    und dem UFZ   , mit welchen wir in Forschung und Lehre verbunden sind. Darüber hinaus werden wir von hervorragenden VerwaltungsmitarbeiterInnen und studentischen Hilfskräften in Forschung und Lehre unterstützt.

Unser Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt in der empirischen und angewandten Wirtschaftswissenschaft. Dazu gehören Studien in den Bereichen Makroökonomie, Handel, Geldwirtschaft und Finanzen; Gesundheitsökonomie und Ethik; Kultur und wirtschaftliche Werte; Wirtschaftspolitik und Governance; Umweltökonomie; Arbeitsökonomie; Wirtschaftsgeschichte, Wachstum und Entwicklung; sowie empirische und statistische Methoden.

Gemeinsam mit dem IWH    und weiteren Partneruniversitäten und Forschungszentren führen wir das Mitteldeutsche Doktorandenprogramm in Ökonomie (CGDE) durch, in dem unsere DoktorandInnen in allgemeinen und spezifischen Kursen auf Graduiertenebene ausgebildet werden.

Die Abteilung und unsere Partnerforschungszentren organisieren Forschungsseminare und öffentliche Vorträge zu aktuellen Forschungsfragen der Ökonomie. Darüber hinaus werden Workshops angeboten, in denen die DoktorandInnen ihre Arbeiten präsentieren können.
