Land Economics

Welcome to the website of the professorship Land Economics

Here you can find information about the teaching and research of the professorship in Land Economics.

Topics in research and teaching

The focus of Land Economics is the environmental economic investigation of different land-use forms. The following topics play a central role:

  • Conflicts and trade-offs among different land uses
  • Design of land-use policy instruments
  • Behaviour of land users
  • Economic valuation of ecosystem services and biodiversity

All these foci are considered from an interdisciplinary perspective. Land use is conceptualized as the management and governance of social-ecological systems.

The main research focus lies on the study of multifunctional agricultural landscapes.

Modules

  • Grundlagen der Umweltökonomik (Bachelor's, summer term)
